Can you imagine being in the same place Jesus was in? Although we may not be able to feel what Jesus did, we can relate His feelings to our modern lives. Francis Chan raises this question: How could a father allow this happen? Jesus’ love for us was greater than what He sacrificed. Chan’s main point is God’s love is greater than anything – greater than death, and He needed Jesus to display that love for everyone to see. He died for you because He loves you.
“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1 John 4:10
