God is more interested in our availability than our capability.

For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

2 CHRONICLES 16:9

Is your life suffering from a power outage? Wish you had a little more evidence of God’s miracles in your life?

You’re not alone. Most of us try to fly to the heavens through the strength of our own wax wings and the result is painful. Flapping. Straining. Groaning. Burned out.

What is the value of a light bulb without electricity? A refrigerator? A microwave? Right. Without juice they are worthless contraptions, destined for the junkyard. So too is the value of our efforts without God’s blessing and power.

So what does it take to be a miracle worker?

As it turns out, not much. This is because God does all of the heavy lifting. Remember, He once used a donkey to preach, which means there is hope for all of us.

It starts by acknowledging and appreciating all of the miracles which happen day in and day out. Rather than allowing life’s distractions to make us numb to God’s ongoing glory, we should be in a constant state of gratitude and celebration.

But there’s more to it. Much more.

Have you noticed there are some people who just seem to have God’s favor in each and every aspect of their lives? Their prayers are answered. They bring people to Christ. They are used to help grow God’s Kingdom. They live a life full of joy and contentment.

What’s holding us back from having this kind of vibrant, eternally rewarding life? How do we plug into the power of God and experience a life full of miracles? There’s much to it, but here are three critical traits to head us on a path to true prosperity:

Attitude of Servitude
First. Does this mean we’re just a few well-crafted prayers from winning the lottery, reversing the aging process and becoming wildly famous?

No. In the Book of Acts, Simon the Sorcerer learns this lesson in succinct fashion after offering the Apostles money to teach him how to use the Holy Spirit to further his own personal ambitions. The disciples gave Simon a scathing rebuke and told him to repent and seek forgiveness.

A heart for others is the first requirement. Most of us have a hard time getting past “Go” on this one as we’re so inwardly focused, corrupted by the influences and pressures of the world around us.

However; we were designed to put God first and to care for others. When our focus returns to our true spiritual purpose there is no limit to how we may be used by the Creator of the Universe.

To acquire an Attitude of Servitude we must first turn down the “Me Volume” in our lives so we can hear about the needs of others and be gently guided by God’s voice.

PRAYER: “How can I help Lord?”

Availability
Unfortunately, miracles rarely happen according to our personal calendar. When we’re in the business of miraculous living it’s means we’re on-call around the clock. We never know when we’ll get that next divine assignment.

How many miracles have we missed in our lives because we are too tired, too busy and too distracted each and every day?

It’s when that phone call comes at the worst time. That person holding the sign at the side of the road. That individual sitting next to you on the airplane when all you want to do is take a nap. It’s whenever God whispers in your ear, “Do something about this.” Will you be willing to obey under all circumstances?

It’s not about talents. God is more interested in our availability than our capability.

Is your life so compacted and crazy that you have no time for miracles? What changes could you make to clear up your calendar to be more available to Him?

PRAYER: “Here I am Lord.”

Humility
As you develop an Attitude of Servitude and you become Available to Him, you’ll begin to see more and more miracles in your life. You’ll see God’s hand in so many different aspects of your life and those around you.

But you’ll also draw the attention of the enemy.

The more you become useful in helping to build God’s Kingdom, the more you’ll find yourself under attack. And the weapon of choice is almost always pride.

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 16:18

This is why Humility should always be your response. Not only because it’s an effective defense against pride, but because it’s the truth.

There is nothing we can do in our own power that is worthy of praise. If great things are happening, it’s because God is doing them through us. It’s a simple matter of giving credit where credit is due. It’s a question of integrity.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.
Phil: 2:2-4

A healthy prayer life is one of the best barometers of our level of humility. The very act of prayer is a recognition that we are relying on a power much greater than ourselves.

Yet, it’s not only that we ARE praying, it’s the SUBJECT of our prayers which matter because they reveal our hearts.

How often do we pray for opportunities to share Jesus before we seek out God’s favor in our lives? Are we praying for God’s will in our lives, or for God to bless our own personal plans?

In humility, we shouldn’t merely come to God with a laundry list, but be willing to hand Him the pen as well. And when prayers are answered, and miracles occur, we always must honor the source.

PRAYER: “To You be the Glory.”

Miraculous Living
A life full of miracles awaits each of us willing to put our full faith and trust in the Lord. It’s a true, rich existence where all that is good about God flows through us and into the lives of others.

Through an Attitude of Servitude, Availability and Humility, it can begin today. Sounds impossible? Well, it kind of is.

Which is why the first miracle we should pray for is a fully surrendered heart. That’s when the fireworks begin.
