It has been said that you can be in a crowded room and yet be all alone. One can find themselves in the midst of a great event, but even being in the midst of it, you still miss so much. At a three-ring circus you can only watch one ring at a time. If you look away at the wrong time you could miss something spectacular. Being in the midst can be an amazing experience, but it doesn’t mean that you didn’t miss something.

God is not in the midst of your circumstances. He is not in the midst of everything. The truth is, everything is in the midst of God. God is omniscient, he is all-knowing. He sees everything – not just the events themselves, but the motive and emotion of your deep heart. Nothing is hidden from God’s view.

God is also omnipresent, he is everywhere all at once. He is not just present everywhere geographically in space, but being eternal, he is also everywhere in time. He is present everywhere now…and everywhere in the past…and everywhere in the present. He sees your birth, life, and homecoming as though they are. Everything is in the midst of God and nothing is unknown to him.

We are told in scripture that the sacrifice of Jesus was not just for the sins of one generation or people, but for ”the sins of the world” (1 John 2:2). Jesus’ death atones for every sin ever committed, and that will be committed. If it were not then he would need to make that sacrifice year after year as the Jews did under the Law. Jesus’ sacrifice is sufficient for you; God’s grace is sufficient for you. As Jesus hung on the cross he bore every sin you have been, are, and would be guilty of. He has left no stone unturned. He has seen it, and dealt with it, all.

You may have sins and failures that you’d rather forget. There may be skeletons in the closet of your heart that you would rather forget and hope no one ever discovers; there may be things you think are hidden safely, even from God. Not true. It is all laid bare before him. It always has been. God has not been in the midst of human history, or in the midst of your life – as if he could turn his head and miss something. All this is in the midst of God.

He has seen it, he knows it, he has paid for it. “Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain, he washed it white as snow.” Or in the words of our Lord himself, “It is finished.” That word “all,” in the Greek, means…all. No stone unturned; no loose ends. When you confess and turn to Jesus he covers you completely. He hears the cry of your heart. Trust him with those deep, dark wounded, fragile parts of your heart. Confess you hurt and guilt and be healed.

At this time, we ask you refrain from purchasing on the Sonoma Christian Home store. We are in the process of performing updates and in the meantime we would ask you hold off on new orders. We will make an announcement once our store is back in action! Dismiss
