The Mirror’s Reflection –

In a kingdom so vast it stretches over multiple nationalities and languages, there reigns a lavish king.  In all his worldly wealth, splendor, and glory, he abundantly entertained the most powerful men in the world for one hundred and eighty days.

With goblets of gold filled continuously with palace wine, the king and his guests are in high spirits in the last week of celebration. In an instant, the king’s glory shatters to the floor by the refusal of his queen to appear before his crowd of drunken men. The king burns with anger at his humiliation and is fearful of losing all he proclaimed himself to be. He orders the Queen out of her royal position, never to enter his presence again. To reinforce his power, he sends for all the beautiful young virgins in every province of his realm. All across his land, he claims ownership on the girls found desirable. They are ripped from their homes and transported like merchandise to the king’s bountiful closet, becoming just one on a shelf of many more. After a year’s worth of preparations, their adorned bodies will be given to the king.

Whoever stands out among them will be crowned Queen of this great and mighty kingdom; and he will have made his point to all his people that no one crosses his majesty unharmed by his powerful hand. (Esther 1)

But there is a King greater than he with a kingdom of His own whom reigns high above the throne of this land—and He has a princess proven worthy of an epic mission. This princess, “being the workmanship of her Father, was created for His glory to do good works, which He had prepared in advance for her to do.” (Ephesians 2:10). Before he laid the foundations of the earth, He knew what He would call her for. With purpose in mind, He created her in lovely form.  This undercover princess is strategically placed for her calling among the most desired of the land and she is accepted into the palace.

More than just beauty, her Father also created in her a heart and personality that wins the favor of her overseer, and eventually, the king. Destined by the Great King to wear the crowns of both worlds, this princess of the heavenly kingdom becomes the Queen of the worldly kingdom.

Just like Esther, every daughter of the King has been created. As a creation, there is always a purpose. Nothing is created, even by the hands of man, to be used for nothing. How much more is this true for a life cherished by the Almighty and filled with the same power that raised the Son from the dead?

“Now about spiritual gifts, sisters, I do not want you to be ignorant.
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
There are different kinds of working, but the same God works
all of them in all men.  Now to each one the manifestation of
the Spirit is given for the common good. All these are the work
of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.”

1 Corinthians 12:1,4-7,11

The hands of the princess’ Creator mindfully and precisely crafted in her a specific personality and temperament, dreams and passions, all for a specific purpose. He has perfectly placed in her all that is needed to fulfill her call. However, so often a princess will look around at every other princess and label the other as the perfect model–all a true princess should be. She will admire her qualities and desire them for herself. Tirelessly, she will stretch, cram, and mold herself into the shape of this other princess. All the while, she becomes a poor replica and loses her own shape all together. Behind the mask, her heart is raging as it fails to be the princess she so desperately longs to be for her Father. Using her own power for her own ideal, she will always fall flat, not matter how pure her heart and motives.

“The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts;
and though all its parts are many, they form one body.
So it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit
into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—
and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.”

1 Corinthians 12:12,13

All were not called to be or to do the same thing. However, all do work with the same mind; and that is the mind of Christ. With one mind, all work for one objective—to bring glory to the Father in a world ruled by darkness.

“Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. If the foot should say,
“Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that
reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say,
“Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that
reason cease to be part of the body.  If the whole body were an eye,
where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear,
where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged
the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.
If they were all one part, where would the body be?
As it is, there are many parts, but one body.”

1 Corinthians 12:17-20 (emphasis added)

It hits her. She takes the sword she’s been holding, the power of her Father and Savior, and destroys the mask that has encased and imprisoned her. Who she is by the hands of her Father washes over her like a tidal wave, taking with it all that she thought she knew. In glorifying the works of His hands in the other princess, she stepped where her feet were never intended to go. In doing so, she also didn’t go where she was intended. Memories, tendencies and dreams flood her mind, and it all points her in the direction of her mission.

Mackenzie Drazan by Thom Kerr for Fashion Gone Rogue

“The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!”
And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!”
On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker
are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable
we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable
are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts
need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of
the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it,
so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts
should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every
part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”

1 Corinthians 12:21-27

In the body of Christ, every part has a job and every job serves a unique and special purpose. Do not look to the other parts and think you are less than they and try to mold yourself to be like them. You will miss your call. Do not look to the other parts and think yourself to be greater than they. Your pride will make you fall. Instead, look within the creation that is you and pray for wisdom and knowledge to know your purpose.

Humbly remember that no one part of a body can fulfill his purpose independently from the others. Learn from those who are wiser. The King has appointed those to teach and to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. (Ephesians 4:12-16, emphasis added)

For the daughters who accepted the crown and find it hard to see yourself as holy and believe you are unusable to the Father, remember that Christ has cleansed you of all that made you dirty. In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. If a girl cleanses herself from the latter, (removes herself from ignoble uses) she will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.” (2 Timothy 2:20,21) And be “confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)

There is a war that rages around Queen Esther.  The destruction and annihilation of all the King of king’s children—”young and old, women and little children”—has been penned as law and will be carried out in one single day. In the language of each people of every province, orders are scripted for all to be prepared for this day.

Although fought on the land she stands on and with people she can touch, she has been readied and positioned on the front lines of a battle between two unseen worlds. Those at war:  Life and Death. Those at stake:  the precious children of the King of kings. Under the advisement of her cousin, Mordecai, Queen Esther has kept her identity as one of these children hidden; perhaps another strategic move of the Father’s. Now, however, Mordecai is urging Esther to go into the king’s presence to beg for mercy and plead with him for her people. Overtaken with fear, she reminds Mordecai of the common knowledge that there is but one law for anyone who approaches the king without being summoned: death. The only exception is for the king to extend the gold scepter and spare her life. It has been thirty days since the king has last asked to see her. (Esther 3) Mordecai replies:

“Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape.  For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish.  And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?”

Esther 3:13,14 (emphasis added)

The decision is hers to make. Will Queen Esther accept the mission she was created for? God’s will will be done whether a princess accepts her call or not. She must ask herself, “Will I follow the call, or will I hand it over to someone else?”

Lord, you have uniquely and thoughtfully created us to do your will and to bring all the glory to you. “Fill us with the knowledge of your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that we may live a life worthy of You and may please You in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God” so that we will know what your will is for our lives.  In Jesus’ name we pray and ask these things.  Amen.  (Colossians 1:9,10)

Mr. Parker- I am currently working on a story to go along with this whole concept. I have also entertained (quite heavily, I might add!!!) the thought of a script as well! What a great thing to hear you say! I would love to speak with you as I move toward this.
