Oscars nominee ‘Moana‘ is a great animated film from Disney! It is action-packed with great animation. Even more importantly, Moana promotes love and family commitment. Another overarching theme is social responsibility. Because of this, Moana acts as a good role model for young people.
The CG-animated family adventure is inspired from Polynesian folklore and legends, and it follows the heroic journey of a teenage girl and her efforts to save Polynesian culture from annihilation. Drawn to the ocean , Moana convinces the comedic demigod Maui to help her with her on her mission. Reluctantly, Maui makes the decision to help Moana on her quest, and they begin their voyage across the open ocean, encountering enormous monsters and facing seemingly impossible odds to save the Polynesian Islands.
Moana may not be a princess, but she’s definitely a heroine.
This is a delightful, entertaining movie for anyone, from children to adults. In other words, it’s a family-friendly film that you can feel completely comfortable watching for movie-night!
Moana did very well at the box office, making almost $250 million domestically, with a total of over $550 million worldwide. The film also earned incredible ratings, with a rare 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as many positive reviews from established sources. The film is well made, and has a timeless message.
The DVD is now available in stores everywhere, as well as Blu-Ray and VOD! The film was released on DVD March 7th, 2017, and online (streaming) in February.
