Letters from Daddy –
Princesses of the heavenly kingdom are sent into a land with foreign ways and treasures. The world in which they live will strive to train the princesses in their own ways, in hopes of turning their hearts away from their Father and the purpose they were sent with. The daughters of the King are called to live as princesses in a world that not only does things differently, but also makes it’s poisonous lies seem like delicious truth.
Like a parentless child, if they were to enter this world on their own, these princesses would never know their true identity. The Royal Compass, heavenly directed North, would quickly become distorted as their precious feet walked the dangerous roads of this foreign land.
The danger of it all is that the contortion lies in the hidden parts of the compass. While the arrow still read North, they would slowly and gently be guided astray, believing that they remained in the right direction.
Their misguided steps away from North, no matter how small, would soon become South before they realized it, and South would become their North. However, these princesses are not abandoned or orphaned in this sun-scorched land.
Their loving Father has left them with letters from home. He pours out His heart for them in the priceless pages of His word; telling them who their Father is, who they are in Him, how they got to this foreign land and how to live abundantly inside of it.
My daughter,
Pay attention to what I say;
turn your ear to my words.
Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;
for they are life to those who find them
and health to one’s whole body.
Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.
Keep your mouth free of perversity;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze directly before you.
Give careful thought to the paths for your feet
and be steadfast in all your ways.
Do not turn to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.
Proverbs 4:20-27
If the King’s cherished daughters are to walk this world victoriously as princesses of the highest kingdom, they must fill their hearts continually with the promises and words of their Father. His word must be “more precious to them than thousands of pieces of silver and gold” Psalm 119:72.
What will keep the princesses’ compass pointing heavenward, toward the true North, so that they may be set apart for the Lord’s holy use? The truth. God’s word is truth. And where there is truth, there is power. To this foreign land, the words of the King are nothing more than paper and ink. However, in the heart of a princess, it becomes a fierce weapon, the only weapon in the armor of God. (Ephesians 6:10-20)
“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword,
it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow;
it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12
“After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
“I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world.
They were yours; you gave them to me
and they have obeyed your word.
I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those
you have given me, for they are yours.
All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.
I will remain in the world no longer,
but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you.
Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me,
so that they may be one as we are one.
I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world,
so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.
I have given them your word and the world has hated them,
for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
John 17:1,6,9-11,13-19
There are many treasures in this world and the voices that rule over it shout to the princess to sell everything good in her to gain them. While treasures of gold sparkle in the hearts of many on this earth, they are used to pave the streets in the heavenly kingdom. The best this world can offer is asphalt to the King of kings. Precious daughters, your hearts are your soul’s treasure chest.
Be ever mindful what you place inside of it and to whom you give it to. Fill it with your Father’s letters, lock it away, and guard it with all your might and His words will become your sword.
Stand firm with the “sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,” (Ephesians 6:17) with one edge pointing inwardly to defeat the things in ourselves that do not reflect our Father, and one edge pointing outwardly to defeat the enemy rulers of this land.
Abba Father, “send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell.” Psalm 43:3
