Erica Galindo, Founder & Editor-in-Chief
Whether it is cooking, writing, acting or home school, God has blessed me with a zest for life and the gift of encouragement. Living in New York City for thirteen years, I experienced the best restaurants in the world, shopped at the most amazing gourmet markets and by marriage, became a part of one of the most famous food families in New York–Balducci’s. While sadly the marriage didn’t last, the education in Italian cooking and family food traditions is something that I will treasure all my life.
With Balducci’s help, I opened a store in Lower Manhattan called Piccola Cucina. My nose for design caught the eye of the press and we were featured in: Food & Wine, House Beautiful, Gourmet, Bon Appetit & The New York Times. By grace, this helped launch my professional media career.
In 1995, God blessed me with the plum job of Style Editor for Country Magazine in the Hamptons. My journey has been fascinating and has surprisingly led me to the wine country in Sonoma, California. Considering that every chapter of my life has been filled with gourmet food, this is not a coincidence. I am abundantly blessed to be married to the love of my life and living amidst the richest farmlands and vineyards in this country.
As I celebrated my new life and honed my cooking skills, God gave me a vision for Sonoma Christian Home. What started out as a cooking website quickly turned into a full blown online magazine. I have been humbled and amazed to watch God bring this dream to fruition. The Lord blessed me with a team of sold-out believers with gifts that perfectly matched the project. Jared White, our web developer, Katie Wilson, our graphic artist, Jeney Pribyl, our managing editor and Emily Semans, our lead photographer.
The Lord then brought a roster of uber talented writers to contribute to a broad range of topics that are relative, engaging and Christ centered. Many hands have given to this project. Our goal is to create an online community that celebrates food, faith and family. We hope you will join us as we celebrate together the abundant life we’ve been given in Christ our Lord.
From our Christian home to yours,
Erica Galindo
