Woodlawn High School sits in the middle of racially charged Birmingham, Alabama during the 1970s. Tony Nathan knows the city’s hatred all too well as a black football player on a mostly white team. But when Hank shows up challenging the team to show Jesus love and forgiveness to each other and to others, things start to change. With help from Paul “Bear” Bryant and Tandy Gerelds, the team starts playing the game and living their lives through the power of love. This is bigger than football; this is a movement. This is God’s love. This is Woodlawn.
Pure Flix Entertainment and the Erwin Brothers present Woodlawn, based on the true story of God’s power in the lives of a football team and the people around them. This challenging film stars Sean Astin, Jon Voight, C. Thomas Howell, Nic Bishop, and Caleb Castille. Look for the inspirational movie Woodlawn coming to theaters October 16.
