On SEPTEMBER 2, 1945, Emperor Hirohito's Imperial forces officially surrendered aboard the U.S.S. Missouri, anchored in Tokyo Bay. German Homeschool Family Raided By Police, Children Seized

Special agents stormed a homeschooling family's residence in Germany, forcibly removing all four of the family's children (ages 7-14). The sole grounds for removal were the parents continued to homeschool in defiance of a German ban on home education.
