When life seems to be getting a little hectic and I am bombarded with visual stimulation, I am drawn to calm and serene spaces. A place where my eye can rest and my mind can be free to ponder the deeper things. A soft, muted color palette of whites and washed greys instantly calms the soul.

This 17th century seaside home located in Cornwall is a perfect example.

Now, I know that not everyone would consider rough firewood, soft linens, and rustic objects d’art lovely . . .

. . . or find beauty in simple things . . .

. . . but these images instantly put me in a state of peace and tranquility!

Sometimes we need to get away and regroup. And if you can’t get away, creating a serene space at home . . .

. . . or even a special nook of you own . . .

. . . can have the same effect.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is attractive,
if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise . . .

. . . let your mind dwell on these things.

Philippians 4:8

Now that my visual palette has been cleansed I am ready to face the riot of color and visual noise before me!

Blessings,

Cindy
