The big-budget, epic movie, David and Goliath commences shooting next month in Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria. Directed by Tim Chey (Carry Me Home, Final The Rapture), the film looks at one of the most powerful and beloved Bible stories of all time. The film will focus on the early life of David who fought against the Philistine giant, Goliath against all odds.

Chey, who just finishing location scouting in Morocco, is jubilant. “We’re going to have thousands of extras, A-list special effects, and it will exceed the epic-look of Noah.”

The $50 million dollar film comes at a perfect time. Hollywood is embracing faith-based films as of late and the audiences are growing at a record pace according to reports.

“Our company was in development of David and Goliath long before Noah (recent box office success),” says Chey. “I heard a clear voice from the Lord to make this film. I want the audience to really feel the fear of what it meant to take on a 9-foot giant warrior with a sling-shot and what David’s incredible faith meant to the world.”

Will David and Goliath stay Biblically correct? “Absolutely,” says Chey. “Hollywood should embrace true Believers to tell Biblical stories.”

David and Goliath is set for an early-2015 nationwide theater release. “We will have the P&A for a 1,500 theater release,” says Chey.

Chey is no stranger to shooting in foreign territories. He just finished the $20 million film, Carry Me Home starring Cuba Gooding, Jr., Sharon Leal, William Sadler shot on the Amistad and ‘Epic Journey’ that took him to 29 countries. Carry Me Home, based on the early life of John Newton, is slated to open nationwide in December 2014.
