Christian recording artist, TobyMac explains the message behind his song “Steal My Show.” Either you can have one life and make it yours or you can give it for God’s purposes and have Him do something bigger with it–something bigger than you could ever imagine. Let God have our life! Let Him live through you. If you let Him, He will make it the best “Show” ever!

“Stealing violates the 8th commandment and is a sin. So, if you are asking God to steal your show, what does that say about God? You used the word “give” in the lyrics and I totally support that concept. But stealing?
An idiom is a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g., rain cats and dogs, see the light )
The idiom “Steal the Show” Means to attract the most attention and praise.
So what Toby Mac is really saying, is God take all the attention and praise, take my talents and my life and use it for your glory not mine .
