Old Fashioned was No. 4 in per-screen average and No. 1 in the hearts of moviegoers who saw it and fell in love with it over Valentine’s Day weekend. Box Office Mojo said the film’s success “seems to be the biggest weekend ever for a faith-based movie playing at fewer than 300 theaters.”
If you were part of this incredible support of Old Fashioned on opening weekend, thank you! And if you weren’t, take time this week to see it. Check out what critics had to say about this fantastic film! Best of all: because of the great response this past weekend, Old Fashioned will be expanding to more theaters!
“… It offers an endearing look at what it’s like to fall in love — not lust … the kind of production that makes couples want to hold hands in the theater.”
Rick Bentley, The Fresno Bee“Yes, I loved this movie … it was well-done and it got you thinking about love, you know that love that you either have now and renewed your enthusiasm for it or the love you always desired. Falling in love, being with someone who you trust, and who respects you. How can that be bad?”
Stephanie Piche, Red Carpet Report
“The movie’s also very well acted and beautifully shot. … Old Fashioned is both unusual and intelligent enough that, despite it not being entirely MY cup of tea, I’m hoping that it’ll succeed at doing at least a little more than addressing the converted.”
Glenn Kenny, RogerEbert.com“… Amid all the complexity of grappling with life and love and faith, Old Fashioned never wavers in its old-fashioned convictions that Clay so laudably latches onto. The result is a unusual thematic emphasis on purity and self-control coupled with forgiveness and grace … right there in the middle of a grand romance.”
Plugged In“… A refreshingly-principled parable proving that a picture championing chastity can be every bit as entertaining and enjoyable as one promoting promiscuity.”
