Reviews are in for Christian Mingle: The Movie, which released on DVD January 13, and audiences agree the new romantic comedy starring Lacey Chabert (Party of Five, Mean Girls) provides the perfect Valentine’s Day entertainment:

  • “I enjoyed Christian Mingle and think non-Christians as well as Christians, and fans of romantic comedies would enjoy this movie. It’s also a great date movie.” — Mattleveillee via Fandango
  • “This is a great movie for a date night or hanging out with your friends–Lots of laughs and plenty of romance. I’ve really enjoyed the movies I’ve seen that Corbin Bernsen has directed.” — via Fandango reviewer
  • “I got the DVD of the movie today at Walmart, and after watching this movie, I have to say that Christian Mingle: The Movie is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.” — Benjamin H.

Additionally, The Dove Foundation called this movie a “sweet romantic comedy” and Ted Baehr, publisher of movieguide.org, said it had “great heart” and was “laugh-out-loud funny.” Focus on the Family’s Plugged In gave it 4.5 out of 5 and said, “there’s a clear and unforced Gospel presentation.”

Taking viewers on a laughter-filled adventure to discover love and happiness, Christian Mingle: The Movie stars Lacey Chabert (Mean Girls, Party of Five) as Gwyneth Hayden, a 30-something marketing executive with a top-notch career, killer wardrobe, dream apartment and great friends – she thinks the only thing missing is a man.

In a moment of inspired desperation, she fills out a profile on the dating website ChristianMingle.com hoping to find Mr. Right, “God’s match” for her. However, Gwyneth’s attempts at impressing her dream guy end in disaster when he calls her out on her “faux faith.” In an honest realization, she sees her superficial life for what it really is, which leads Gwyneth down a path toward fulfilling the true desires of her heart with “life-changing” love.

Christian Mingle: The Movie is available now on DVD, with bonus features including bloopers, behind-the-scenes extras, commentary with Bernsen and Chabert, and a discussion guide written by Debra Fileta (Author of True Love Dates).

Author Debra K. Fileta M.A., LPC partnered with Christian Mingle: The Movie to write a discussion guide about discovering true love. The guide can be downloaded at Christian Mingle the Movie.com
