The epic adventure ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ will light up theatres on March 9, 2018, brought to viewers by Disney. Based on the book of the same name by Madeleine L’Engle, it was published first in 1963, winning a Newberry Medal.
This timeless classic, which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examines the nature of darkness versus light and ultimately, the triumph of love. The story revolves around Meg Murry (Storm Reid), a 13-year-old girl who is the daughter of scientists (Chris Pine and Gugu Mbatha-Raw) and sister to twins Sandy and Dennis, and child prodigy Charles Wallace (Deric McCabe). Meg’s father is mysteriously missing.
During a storm one evening the family talks with their neighbor Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon) who eventually mentions that she believes a tesseract (a wrinkle in time) actually exists. The adventure ensues as Meg, Charles Wallace, and Meg’s friend Calvin are catapulted through space and time on a search for Dr. Murry.

Directed by Ava DuVernay from a screenplay by Jennifer Lee based upon the novel by Madeleine L’Engle, A Wrinkle in Time is produced by Jim Whitaker and Catherine Hand with Doug Merrifield serving as executive producer. The film stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peňa, Levi Miller, Deric McCabe, André Holland, Rowan Blanchard with Zach Galifianakis and Chris Pine, and introduces Storm Reid. The film also stars Bellamy Young (Scandal).
The book A Wrinkle in Time is part of a series with subsequent books including A Wind in the Door and A Swiftly Tilting Planet. With the star-studded cast, riveting tale, and fascinating effects, it’s sure to be a box office hit.
