This Present War | Part 1
For decades people have speculated over the future of America in Bible prophecy.
You may have heard for years, as I, that our beloved United States simply does not figure into End Times events; and that either some catastrophe, sneak attack, or economic collapse will befall and render her at best inconsequential—or worst, destroyed. And in the past this was a perfectly plausible view. But no more.
As the time gets nearer, the signs get clearer.
We no longer gaze as through a glass darkly. All around us…every day…every hour…portentous events are occurring worldwide. Puzzle pieces fall into place. It is as if for years peering through a microscope at the blurred, confused, and indistinct images of prophecy, we at last have discovered the fine tune knob. And suddenly the fuzziness flees…colors coalesce…and boundaries burst forth boldly from the Word.
As the time gets nearer, the signs get clearer.
Unsurprisingly, an angel told the befuddled prophet, Daniel, over 2,500 years ago, that it was to unfold exactly like it has: “But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the scroll until the end of time. Many will go back and forth and search anxiously [through the scroll], and knowledge [of the purpose of God as revealed by His prophets] will [greatly] increase” (Daniel 12:4 AMP). The angel informs Daniel that the vision of future things will not be understood by him or anyone else until the days of their fulfillments approach.
Those days draw near.
God is not done with the United States. He has a plan. A majestic plan. A plan only He could conceive. A plan that is even now emerging in the light of present world events. And a plan that incites the ungovernable rage of heaven’s enemies in invisible realms.
Have you not wondered at the contempt and strife now tearing our country in two? How vicious and inordinate? It is as if a demoniac, in the throes of epileptic fury, flails and writhes upon the ground, the tormenting spirit unwilling to leave quietly the body it has come to love to despoil.
This is spiritual war. The war for the Soul of the United States. And we need to pray—and never give up. “This type only comes out by prayer and fasting.” This is the time that you can make your mark in history. Pray. Angels fight as you read.
I will in coming days describe in detail the destiny of the United States as revealed in Scripture. It is heavy stuff. But also heavenly stuff. It is time we cleave to Him like never before.
As the signs get clearer, we must draw nearer.
