Ten years after his first event, evangelist and PULSE founder Nick Hall issues a call for Christians to rally on National Mall in unity this summer on July 16th. Hall has been building toward a historic event in Washington, D.C. for years, having shared the message with more than three million young people that Jesus offers a “reset.” The event, called Together 2016, aims to bring people from all backgrounds together for a unified day of worship and prayer, asking Jesus to reset the nation.
“Our dream is for one million people from all backgrounds to be part of this historic day, standing together for Jesus on the National Mall,” said Hall. “We’re praying for a crowd that is bigger than any of us have been a part of; we want a glimpse of heaven on earth. We believe Jesus can do unprecedented things in our time.”
Together 2016 will be free to the public and is presented in partnership with more than 250 organizations that believe in the power of standing together for Jesus. It will feature an all-star line-up of more than 30 speakers, pastors, artists, and leaders from various backgrounds for a day of unified prayer and worship. A prayer and evangelism movement, PULSE is leading the charge to mobilize people to gather at Together 2016, linking arms with a broad coalition of partners to make this a massive event. Nearly 1,000 churches nationwide have pledged attendance, with more pledges anticipated in the coming months.
“Together 2016 will be a day when we will lay down what divides us—politics, race, social issues, theological differences—to come together and lift up Jesus who unites us. He is the only one who can reset our nation,” said Hall.
Hall has been sharing the message of “reset” at PULSE events all over the world for the last four years. Reset is a term that has been resonating with young people because it represents the clearing of past errors, as with various electronic devices; a reset gets the system working toward its created purpose. Together 2016 aims to deliver that message on a much larger scale, bringing people together from across the nation in the country’s capitol to pray for a national reset.
“During this political year we see so many people of faith becoming negative, critical and jaded,” said Hall. “Where is our help found? Where is our hope found? Not in political leaders. What better time to do something on a large scale that draws our attention back to where it really matters?”
