Can we trust the 66 books of the Bible, or are they just the words of man? How can we know if it is true? John Piper gives one example of how one can know if the Bible really is the inspired Word of God.
John Piper is the former Pastor at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is the author of numerous books, including Spectacular Sins, Pierced by the Word, Don’t Waste Your Life and The Passion of Jesus Christ. The evangelical organization Desiring God is named for his book Desiring God: Meditations of a Christian Hedonist.
Despite many critics claiming that God’s Word is flawed, their statements are, in fact, flawed. The only differences, or flaws, in manuscripts, are either minor grammatical issues or slight inconsistencies that do not endanger the message of the Bible in the least. In reality, the events in the Bible are almost unanimously considered historical facts, due to archaeological evidence and manuscripts from other sources.
