Choosing the right shoes can change your day. They changed Cinderella’s life! Thanks to my friend Jeni for that quote!!  It got me thinking, how true it is.

Each and every morning we have the opportunity to make positive choices. Choices about what to wear, what to eat, and how to feel. Yes, I said how to feel.

The Wardrobe Rx philosophy has always been the feelings follow the actions. What does that really mean?  Well, think of it like Nike’s Just Do It! Those days we wake up feeling yucky and down can be altered if we decide to take the actions we would if we were feeling great. It can mean eating a healthy breakfast, even when we don’t feel like it. It can mean putting on that bright blouse even when we feel like throwing on sweats and possibly staying under the covers. The choice is, do I want to continue to feel down, or am I willing to take the actions to pull myself out if it?

What does this have to do with shoes? As a stylist, I encourage my clients to have at least 2 pairs (if not many more) of shoes that really ROCK!  Red, turquoise, sparkles. You name it! I was recently working with a client who was deciding between two pairs of shoes. One was very practical and the other was FUN! She was trying to make a decision. I asked her which pair made her feel younger and sassier. Easy answer for her. She now calls them her I’m feeling sassy shoes!

Next time you are feeling a bit down, pull out those shoes that really make you feel awesome and WEAR THEM!! Pair them with a pencil skirt, jeans, or even a business suit!

Bet your day will be a good one . . .

At this time, we ask you refrain from purchasing on the Sonoma Christian Home store. We are in the process of performing updates and in the meantime we would ask you hold off on new orders. We will make an announcement once our store is back in action! Dismiss
