It was never God’s plan that we would live our lives in a ball of frustration and anxiety and sometimes we need a spiritual spa treatment.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.  He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters,  He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

PSALMS 23: 1-4

Are you tired? Are you tired of being tired?

Then take a brief moment out of your busy day to step into our spiritual spa to invigorate yourself with the healing touch of God’s Word.

Yes…You Do Deserve a Break
The first step to enjoying this spa treatment is realizing you’re worthy of a break. You’ve earned it by holding strong to your faith as the world spins madly around you. In this prayer below to the Father, Jesus acknowledged we would face many difficulties in our time on earth and that we would constantly be opposed by an enemy who desperately wants us to fail.

I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.

JOHN 17:14-15

So come on in…and treat yourself to something special. Something refreshing.

Shake The Dust Off of Your Shoes
In Scripture, shaking the dust off of your shoes meant to remove the influences and frustrations of the world. The streets in those times were covered with the types of things you wouldn’t want to track into your house via your sandals. So don’t track all your “stuff” into the spa. Take a deep breath, and for a minute, remove any distractions from your mind in order to maximize your spa experience.

Whatever town or village you enter, search for some worthy person there and stay at his house until you leave. As you enter the home, give it your greeting. If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.

MATTHEW 10:11-14

Take It All Off of Your Shoulders
One of the greatest benefits to being a Christian is that we have surrendered our burdens to our Lord and Savior. So why are we so worn out and defeated at times? It’s because we forget this blessing and make the mistake of trying to do everything in our own power and in our own strength. What do you have going on in your life now that seems to be insurmountable? Why not lay it back at the foot of the cross?

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

MATTHEW 11:28-30

No Need to Worry
When we truly and fully surrender our burdens to God, we no longer worry. Worry is a disease that cripples and slowly kills. The cure is putting our faith in God. Because, when we worry, it means we don’t trust God’s plan in our lives. What worries you? Is it time to let it go?

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

MATTHEW 6:25-27

Trust These Hands
And on the subject of trust, what areas in your life could use the hands of the Master Potter? Are there sin issues you need to have removed? Do you need more faith in your life? Hope? Gratitude? Why not allow him to knead the clay of your life, and to renew you with newfound energy and purpose?

Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel. ”

JEREMIAH 18:5-7

Before We Send You On Your Way…
We would be remiss in our service to you if we were not to do something about that annoying knot in your neck. It’s caused by unforgiveness. Here’s an easy way to relieve the pain.

As you close your eyes…think of the most difficult person in your life. Now pray for them.

Isn’t that refreshing? As a token of our thanks for your visit today, here is a robe for you fashioned by the words of Paul:

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

COLOSSIANS 3:12-14

The Source of All Relaxation
It was never God’s plan that we would live our lives in a ball of frustration and anxiety. If we’re thirsty for His peace, it’s because we’re not visiting the well as often as we should. Why not make a new commitment to spend more time in prayer and His word?
