Jesus:
“Just as the Father has loved Me,
I have also loved you; abide in My love.”
John 15:9
Do you believe what God says about you?
That you’re the apple of His eye?
That you make Him dance and sing?
That He’s always had you on His mind?
You capture His heart with one glance, you know.
He thinks you’re beautiful.
He loves the sound of your voice.
He knows you’re smart.
His eyes light up as He prepares your destiny.
He’s building you into a beautiful tower of strength and love, and He delights in the process.
He has gone ahead, planning each of your steps for good, and invites you to join Him.
He prepares joy and peace in the midst of every circumstance, because He wants you to truly know Him.
Do you believe it? Do you embrace it?
I believe it, but sometimes the way I think shows I don’t believe it as much as I want to. As much as I could.
When I get tired. When I grow weary.
When I agree with discouragement.
When my surroundings pull my gaze away from Him,
I forget what He says about me.
- I forget His love knows no bounds, no limitations, no conditions.
- I forget His peace is always within me; I must choose to let it fill me.
- I forget that His greatest joy is my leaning into Him.
- I allow doubt to steal my joy and suffocate my anticipation of good.
But this doesn’t hinder You, Abba.
You don’t get distracted or discouraged or lose perspective.
You still love me fully, faithfully, without wavering.
You still hold my destiny in Your heart, drawing me to You that I may see it too.
You don’t give up on me.
You continue to speak and laugh and believe in Your goodness.
You continue to train me in righteousness and truth.
You draw me in, under your wings, and hold me close.
Thank You, Father.
Thank You for having a plan bigger than me.
For having a heart bigger than any circumstance.
For having a vision that wavers not, but pursues to the end.
Thank You for reminding me when I forget – if even for a moment.
“Surely your goodness and unfailing love
will pursue me all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.”
Psalm 23:6
