Momentum continues to build in the upcoming sixth episode of A.D. The Bible Continues. The acting is exceptionally powerful, with growing intensity and multi-faceted performances from the lead characters. They use elevated dialects (moving toward British), speaking in the front of the mouth with round vowels, and actively using articulators such as the lips, teeth, and tongue. These dialects are effective and appropriate for a classic Biblical story that appeals universally.
Authentic costumes and impressive, realistic sets also make this series stand out. The power and profundity of the time period is skillfully presented as the arcs in the individual, ensemble, and overall storylines build in conflict and intensity. The realistic brutality of the context and the overcoming of persecution with the power of God’s love, forgiveness, and forbearance is especially fitting and inspirational for the times in which we live.
On May 8, Roma Downey shared with her supporters a sneak peek of Episode Six and revealed that the powerful episode is about Saul, who “is on the warpath.” Roma added that “the next Beyond A.D. features amazing guests Chipo Chung, Kirk Cameron, James MacDonald (Walk in the Word) and Christian musical artists ‘All Sons & Daughters.'”
Many are missing this significant series, saying they’ll see it later on DVD or streaming, but seeing the show when it airs is important for many socially responsible reasons. It encourages good ratings and further series production, it helps promote the show through word of mouth and social media, and it allows you to discuss episodes with small groups of family members and friends.
There is much at stake; A.D. is at the forefront of the movement toward better redemptive, Biblical, and inspirational content on television. Fortunately, more and more consumers are using socially responsible patronage, contributing to the ongoing Reformation of content and Renaissance of artistry.
A.D.‘s spiritual and educational value is deep and wide. Many auxiliary teaching materials correspond with the episodes, such as the teaching of Dr. Jeremiah.
NBC’s drama A.D. The Bible Continues (1.1/3 in 18-49, 5.5 million viewers overall) has held steady week to week. See ongoing reviews on Sonoma Christian Home for content and quality of each episode.
