The Renaissance of artistry and Reformation of content continues and redemptive, family films continue to demonstrate staying power in popularity and sales. On March 14, On DVD Release reports that The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (PG-13, teens-adults) is the top-selling DVD overall, even in pre-release for release March 22. This movie is also the top-seller in the action and sci-fi categories. 

War Room is still a top-selling DVD in the African American category. Zootopia, which is number one in theater box offices, is the top-selling DVD in pre-release in the animation category. The Peanuts Movie, The Good Dinosaur, and Inside Out also top-selling DVDs in the animation category. Max is a top-selling DVD in the family category. Woodlawn is still a top-selling DVD in the sports category. Risen, which is still in theaters, is the top-selling DVD in the historical category and one of the best-selling DVDs in the mystery category, even in pre-release.

Movieguide.org provides reviews (that include age suitability), stories, and more for these movies and many more. They review and report what is currently in theaters, as well as what has recently been released to DVD. Movieguide® also recently honored many of these movies at their recent family-friendly, 24th Annual Movieguide® Awards Gala in Hollywood. The $100,000 Epiphany Prize for the Most Inspiring Movie of 2015, was awarded to War Room. Another one of the other nominees for this honor was Woodlawn.

Awards and honors for the Ten Best Movies for Families included: The Peanuts Movie. Cinderella, The Good Dinosaur, Inside Out, Max, and War Room. Awards and honors for the Ten Best Movies for Mature Audiences included The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, and The Martian. The Bradley Foundation Faith & Freedom awards and honors for Movies included: The Good Dinosaur, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part Two, and Max. The Grace Award for most inspiring movie performance by an actress was given to Karen Abercrombie for War Room.  Sean Astin and Jon Voight were also named as nominees for Best Performance by An Actor.

Netflix.com continues to provide many of these good family movies and more via streaming and DVDS. Even for movies still in theaters subscribers can request these movies when they are available on DVD. Now available on Netflix streaming are the following good redemptive and family movies and television series: Little Boy, Unlikely Animal Friends, Dolphins, American Genius, A Matter of Faith, Rock the Park and many more. Now available for DVD rental are following outstanding movies and TV series: Max, The 33, Doc Martin 7, Pan, Snow White, Ant-Man, War Room, Inside Out, Bridge of Spies and more.

‘The 33’ is a story about 33 miners trapped in the San Jose Mine in Chile for over two months.

Other fine redemptive and family movies and TV series are available through streaming or DVDs on Netflix and other subscription services include the following: Shaun the Sheep, The Chronicles of Narnia and many more excellent Disney movies;  classic Muppets movies, Night at the Museum, The Wizard of Oz, When Calls the Heart, Babe, Charlotte’s Web, Shirley Temple movies, The Secret Garden, The Velveteen Rabbit, Pollyanna movies, Dolphin Tale movies,  Veggie Tales movies and much more. 

It remains important for consumers to review and rate movies and TV series online to keep the good ones maintained and the poor ones removed. Streaming and rental services pay attention to consumer feedback.
