Do you often feel the desire to pray but lose your focus? Here are ten powerful prayers, found in the Bible, that can help you communicate with God. Read and pray the following verses as you spend time with God.

1) WISDOM

Are you really turning to God when you are making decisions? James 1:5-6 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

Father God, I believe Your promise that You will grant me wisdom in my decisions. I look to You to provide insight and clarity. In Jesus’ name I pray.

2) TRUST

Do you believe God is good, and He is dependable? Psalm 62:8 Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge.

Gracious God, I cast my anxiety on You as I share my burdens with You. Thank You for caring about me so deeply. I pray this in Your name Jesus.

3) PRIORITIES

How can God help you discern what is most important during your day? Psalm 90:12 Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

Father, please help me to value what You value, and ignore what You want me to ignore. May my time and energy be spent on what lasts for eternity. In Your name I pray Lord Jesus.

4) STRENGTH

Are you attaching yourself to God’s power? Isaiah 40:28-29 God will not grow tired or weary and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Heavenly Father, I feel my own limitations and weaknesses every day. But I know You are the source of all renewal and power. I am relying on You. May You be glorified in my work today. I gratefully pray this is in Jesus’ name.

5) BOLDNESS

Are you shrinking back in any way from speaking the truth in love? Acts 4:29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak Your word with great boldness.

Gracious God, forgive me for fearing people and lacking the courage to share what is true. Help me to overcome my insecurity, so that I may fully honor You with my words. I want to tell people about You, Jesus, and I ask for opportunities in your name Lord.

6) HEALING

Do you need physical, emotional, spiritual, or relational healing? Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

God, thank You for the many ways that You bring healing into my life. Restore and bring wholeness to what is broken in my life. I appreciate Your touch and Your comfort Jesus, and I pray in Your name.

7) LOVE

Will you give the Holy Spirit full access to all of your life? Romans 5:5 And hope does not disappoint because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom He has given us.

Father God, I do not want to hold anything back from You. Make me an instrument of Your grace and love. I want to live in freedom, forgiveness, and joy as I walk with You. I pray this in the powerful name of Jesus.

8) MERCY

Do you have any sins you need to confess to the Lord and turn from today? Psalm 51:1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love; according to Your great compassion blot out my transgressions.

Loving God, I want to be close with You. I have made bad choices and stumbled again. Cleanse me and forgive me I pray. Your kindness is evident as I turn away from sin and back to You. Thank You for Your mercy in Jesus’ name.

9) GUIDANCE

Are you worried about the future or listening for God’s direction? Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.

Father, I do not want to walk in the patterns of the world. I desire to be in alignment with You. Direct me in Your path so that You will receive praise. I belong to You, and I am listening for Your voice. Thank You for Your steady hand on my life, in Jesus’ name.

10) WONDER

Do you approach God with a sense of awe and excitement? Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Gracious God, forgive me for underestimating You. There are no limits to what You can do. May my faith grow and my vision increase so I can receive Your good plans and ideas. Glorify Your name in my life, my family, my city, and in all of the nations. I pray this in Jesus’ awesome name.
