After much anticipation, the new Switchfoot album trailer ‘Where the Light Shines Through‘ debuts as the album itself released July 8, 2016. This is notably the band’s tenth studio album. The alternative rock band which formed in the 90s, debuted their first album with a major label in 2003, The Beautiful Letdown.
The group is comprised of five members, two of which are brothers. Although Switchfoot is a mainstream band, they continue to be popular among Christians, on Christian charts, and at Christian events. The group also boasts many awards. In 2011, Switchfoot received a Grammy for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album. They have won 11 Dove Awards, 3 ASCAP awards (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), and 12 San Diego Music Awards.
Some of Switchfoot’s most recognized and popular songs are Dare You to Move, Meant to Live, This is Your Life, and Learning to Breathe that was featured in the movie A Walk to Remember.
Switchfoot has toured worldwide and besides the United States has performed in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands. They have been involved in several important causes including To Write Love on Her Arms and Invisible Children.
