In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
– Genesis 1:1
To say that you and this universe exist by chance is like saying a bunch of strings, drums, and sticks composed a beautiful symphony. The universe reflects the glory of God. The truth is that intelligent composers compose symphonies and these composers own what they create. The Bible agrees with this right of ownership, too:
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him” (Psalm 24:1).
God created animals, birds, fish, colorful leaves, and flowers. God also created the ground-producing food that your body needs and enjoys: herbs, vegetables, and fruits. God made fertile soil, the complex system of the chemical structure of the earth.
Snow, rain, and water fall down from heaven to provide rivers. God gave us oceans, light, air, and oxygen-nitrogen gaseous mixtures. We don’t find these blessings on any other planet.
Sing out your thanks to the Lord, sing out your thanks to the Lord, sing praises to our God with a harp. He covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth (Psalm 147:7-8).
Have you also considered the sunshine? The earth exists 93 million miles away from the sun. If the earth were any closer, we would burn. If the earth were a little farther away from the sun, we would freeze. God gave us the perfect temperature for living. Furthermore, the moon is precisely located in the correct place from the earth.
When we look at the magnificent universe we live in, we realize that God gave all people enough evidence to show them that there is a supreme, intelligent, good Designer who called into existence the physical universe and He keeps the universe in perfect order.
Every building must have a builder. In the same way, the universe must also have a builder; nothing cannot cause everything to exist in harmony:
The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make Him known (Psalm 19:1-2).
Precious reader, you may enjoy the created things of this world, but they will never give you complete rest or deep satisfaction because you were made to have a personal relationship with The Creator of this world, your one and only Maker.
