Over 70 million dogs have homes in the United States. These canine creatures are truly humankind’s best and beloved friend, and this new film showcases that special relationship.
Based on the beloved bestselling novel by W. Bruce Cameron, A DOG’S PURPOSE, is a sweet and lovable family film that shares the soulful and surprising story of one devoted dog (voiced by Josh Gad of Frozen) who finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he teaches to laugh and love.
Told from the perspective of “everybody’s best friend” the film highlights the importance of familial bonds, and the unconditional love we have for our best friends. The movie stars Dennis Quaid (Soul Surfer, The Parent Trap, The Day After Tomorrow), Britt Robertson (Tomorrowland, The Longest Ride), K.J. Apa, and John Ortiz (The Finest Hours).
A Dog’s Purpose shares the true treasure of a dog. We don’t own them, they own us in the way they love us, demonstrate loyalty, and sniff out our feelings. This film displays that unique relationship between dogs and the ones who adore them, and celebrates these wonderful canines.
A Dog’s Purpose is produced by Gavin Polone (Zombieland, TV’s Gilmore Girls). The film from Amblin Entertainment and Walden Media is executive produced by Alan Blomquist, Mark Sourian and Lauren Pfeiffer, and it will be distributed by Universal Pictures.
