Academy Award Nominee ‘Hidden Figures’.

Hidden Figures is the incredible untold story of Katherine G. Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe)—brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.

Few people estimated the wild success Hidden Figures would make among critics and viewers alike. The powerful film scored a rare A+ Cinemascore, and earned almost $150 million at the box office. Perhaps its greatest accomplishment to date, Hidden Figures was nominated to the Oscars, making it a potential nominee to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards!

Sonoma Christian Home loves this film because it is doesn’t sacrifice Christian values in order to tell a compelling, powerful story. While the film does include some profanity, it is mild compared to the bulk of Hollywood films today.
