Watch the official trailer to 2018’s ‘Paul: Apostle of Christ’ movie below!

Paul: Apostle of Christ seems like a response to the moderate success of 2016’s Biblical faith-based movie Risen, which grossed over $46 million worldwide on a budget of $20 million. Judging from their previous film, it looks like Paul will be a biblically accurate movie. We’re looking forward to it!

The synopsis provided by Affirm Films is as follows:

AFFIRM Films brings to vivid life on screen the epic story of Paul, the man who went from persecutor of the church to its most powerful and important proponent. Paul suffers alone in a Roman prison, awaiting his execution under Emperor Nero. Mauritius, the ambitious prison prefect, can hardly see what threat this broken man poses. Once he was Saul of Tarsus, the high-ranking and brutal killer of Christians. Now his faith rattles Rome. At great risk, Luke the Physician visits the aged Paul to comfort and tend to him—and to question, to transcribe and to smuggle out Paul’s letters to the growing community of believers. Amid Nero’s inhuman persecution, these men and women will spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and change the world.

Paul: Apostle of Christ is produced by Affirm Films, a division of Sony Pictures, and stars Jim Caviezel (Passion of the Christ), Oliver Martinez, and James Faulkner (Game of Thrones).

Sony Pictures has released a number of faith-based films in the past few years, and plans to continue to do so in the future. In fact, one of their films, The Star, is in theaters now! It tells the classic story of the Nativity through the eyes of the animals.

What do you think about this new movie? Are you excited about it? Let us know in the comments below!
