As award shows have become more and more commonly tasteless, vulgar, and crude, it is refreshing to reads news about and to anticipate the annual Hollywood, Movieguide® Awards, which are known for being classy, gracious, and tasteful as they award the best of artistry in redemptive and family movies.
On January 11, Movieguide®’s Dr. Ted Baehr, media critic and founder of Movieguide®: The Family Guide to Movies and Entertainment and the Christian Film & Television Commission®, has announced the nominees for the 24th Annual Faith & Values Awards Gala and Report to the Entertainment Industry at the Universal Hotel in Los Angeles, set for Friday, Feb. 5.
The presentation of the $200,000 Epiphany Prizes for the Most Inspiring Movie and TV Program of 2015 is the highlight of the Awards. It will also will be telecast Monday, Feb. 22, and Wednesday, Feb. 24 on the REELZChannel. The Epiphany Prizes are supported by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation. They are awarded annually to the best, most inspiring movie and television program that resulted in a “great increase in man’s love or understanding of God.”

An additional highlight will be the presentation of the First Annual Bradley Foundation Faith & Freedom Movie Award for the best movie of 2015 promoting positive American values, supported by a grant from the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation. Movieguide® will also present awards for the Best Movie for Families, the Best Movie for Mature Audiences, as well as the Grace Awards for the Most Inspiring Performances in Movies & TV, given to the best actors or actresses who best exemplified God’s grace to human beings.

The nominees for the Bradley Foundation Faith & Freedom Award for Movies include: “Cinderella,” “The Good Dinosaur,” “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2,” “Joy,” “Max,” “McFarland, USA.” and “Woman in Gold.” The nominees for the Best Movie for Families include: “Cinderella,” “The Good Dinosaur,” “Home,” ” Inside Out,” “Max,” “Paddington,” The Peanuts Movie,” “Shaun the Sheep Movie,” “The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water,” and “War Room.”

The Faith & Values Awards Gala also features awards, known as the “Crystal Teddy Awards,” for family movies, movies for mature viewers, inspiring performances, and movies and television programs promoting traditional social values such as the following: liberty, religious freedom, patriotism, representative government, the right to life, and free market principles.
