Well, it’s October again. It is quite possibly my favorite month of the year because the weather is cool but not cold, the leaves become ablaze with gorgeous colors that only God could create, and there’s copious quantities of candy corn available . . . (insert grin here if you know what I am talking about).

Autumn is truly my favorite season for all the reasons above and many more. It’s the gateway to the holiday season beginning with Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and then a New Year all crammed into a 3-month period. There’s something cozy about slipping into that cable knit sweater for the first time and wrapping your hands around a warm mug of hot chocolate without sweating (especially here in the South).

I have been enjoying the latest craze on the internet — Pinterest. I love browsing through other people’s internet discoveries and saving them as my own. I also like the ability to grab an image that I find and save it somewhere without having to save yet another website to my “favorites” bar never to be seen again. I will say that I wish I would have thought of that about Pinterest. I am not sure just how useful it truly is to me but I do enjoy the sheer fun of going back and just looking at all the gorgeous photos and ideas that I have assembled. So I guess that in itself is the value. So I am going to share a few ideas and items that I have been collecting for a while to celebrate my favorite season: FALL!

I love pumpkins, especially the white ones. I think these outdoor displays are just fantastic. You can create a custom welcome to your home with a painted initial or with these super cute owl designs. The initial pumpkin that I found on Pinterest initially came from the blog Tater Tots and Jello and the owl designs can be found on Better Homes and Gardens website.

Owls are all the rage this year in seasonal decorating and they are showing up everywhere from pumpkins to interior decor.

This cookie jar and pillow are both from Pier1 Imports. Find them at www.pier1.com.

This gorgeous entry display is made from artificial carvable pumpkins found at your local craft store. Some gold paint, craft and floral accents, and a good bit of time provide a WOW factor at your front door sure to be the envy of your neighborhood! You can do it yourself or visit your local Michael’s store and they will do it for you.

If you want to be over the top on your front door design check out this entryway from Midwest Living.

Or you could just cozy up your front porch with some fall colored accessories and add a few throws for those chilly mornings when you are enjoying your coffee complete with Pumpkins Spice Coffee Mate! Find this photo and many other inspiring fall ideas at Better Homes and Gardens.

If you are planning to entertain outdoors here is a beautiful tablescape to inspire your creativity.

This beautiful table idea came from Stone Gable blog. You can also find a recipe for a wonderful simmering potpourri for your home as well.  Click here to get the recipe.

And I wouldn’t be a true interior designer if I didn’t share an inspiring autumn interior with you! Check out this gorgeous room complete with warm colors, an cowhide rug and a sumptuous throw for getting cozy when a chill is in the air. Find this photo and more on Houzz.

So when you have a little extra time on your hands you can find these images and more on my Pinterest page. Enjoy the Autumn and all the splendor and comfort that comes with it!
