Beyond the Mask is an historical action-and-adventure movie with a new level of special effects for an independent, faith-based movie. This swashbuckling action-and-adventure historical drama launches June 5 in one hundred cities coast to coast from Washington, D.C. to Seattle. Besides the 100-city debut, Beyond the Mask remains available in other locations in theaters on-demand. The film has opened through Gathr’s on-demand platform in April with a record-setting 440-plus theaters nationwide (with record box office results guaranteed before the premiere). In the two weeks following, the movie had a box-office-leading per screen sales average for the Monday-Wednesday time frame.

On June 4, Beyond the Mask shares the latest endorsements and sneak-peek preview videos with its supporters. Further, in ongoing, private communication and interviews with the Burns Family Studios for Beyond the Mask there is new information about the movie’s wide-distribution release on June 5 in theaters across the nation.

This record-setting project (largest theatrical on-demand release in history) has landed a theatrical distribution deal for theaters coast to coast, after the movie first came out on-demand the first of April (moviegoers had to purchase their tickets online for one-night only showings in theaters). It has remained in theaters on-demand and now is more widely available with tickets available at the door in theaters across the nation, starting June 5.

Beyond the Mask brings history to life with the story of Will Reynolds, who is leading mercenary for the British East India Company. Will, who has been double-crossed, is now on the run in the American colonies. To redeem his name and win back the woman with whom he’s never been fully truthful, Will takes on a new mask to overcome his nemesis, his former employer. As his past closes in on him, Will seeks to gain the trust and the help of his beloved Charlotte, as well as colonial leader Ben Franklin, as he races against time to defuse a plot of historical proportions. The revolutionary “Beyond the Mask” is a faith-filled adventure celebrating grace, liberty and the true freedom found only in Christ that is especially for inter-generational families, youths, and teenagers.

The back story behind the making of Beyond the Mask is amazing and fascinating. Aaron and Chad Burns have been homeschooled cousins. They making films with family members for fun and school projects. Early efforts transformed into the now Burns Family Studios.

Beyond the Mask is from now Director Chad Burns and now Producer Aaron Burns. The screenplay has been co-written by Stephen Kendrick (“Courageous,”) and Paul McCusker (associated with Focus on the Family). It features Andrew Cheney, Kara Killmer, and John Rhys-Davies (“Return to the Hiding Place” and “The Lord of the Rings” ).
