In 2008 on HBO, Golden Globe winning actor Paul Giamatti (12 Years a Slave) and actress Laura Linney who won a Golden Globe for this miniseries for Best Actress for her role as Abigail Adams, starred in this miniseries that aired in seven parts from March 16 through April 20, 2008.
Each episode showcased different elements of history, including part two which showed the ever-important final drafting of the Declaration of Independence. The miniseries also starred Stephen Dillane (Game of Thrones); David Morse (The Green Mile); Tom Wilkinson (Selma) who received Golden Globe and Screen Actors’ Guild Award nominations for his role in this miniseries; Danny Huston (Wonder Woman); Rufus Sewell (Victoria); Justin Theroux (Star Wars: The Last Jedi); and Guy Henry (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story).
