1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
3 He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
4 Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
5 You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever.
Psalm 23

Key Verse: “He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters” Psalm 23:2

People often wonder if there is a better option where the grass is greener. More money, a new drug, affairs, bigger houses, and the world of entertainment are empty solutions for your soul. The Bible confirms that your longings can be satisfied. It only happens when you fully yield to God.

David describes how a shepherd makes the sheep lie down in green pastures. On their own, sheep end up in destruction, disillusionment, and despair. With the wisdom of the shepherd, however, sheep experience true freedom and fulfillment. The shepherd knows where quiet waters are and how to lead the sheep into contentment. What areas of your life are you resisting God’s leading?

The grass is greener when you decide to trust God.
