The romantic drama, ‘Brooklyn’ movie celebrates Irish heritage. Ellis Lacey, a young woman from a small town in Ireland, struggles to find work and adventure in her hometown. With the help of a Brooklyn priest, Ellis comes to the United States in search of a stable future. Ellis struggles to adjust to her new home, but finds romance in the form of a cute young man, Tony Fiorello.
The twists and turns throughout the enjoyable film with family drama, adventure, loss, and love. Brooklyn stars Saoirse Ronan, Hugh Gormley (Wonderland), Emory Cohen (The OA), Fiona Glascott (This is My Father), and many others. The film, which debuted in 2015 at the Sundance Film Festival, was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Picture, and Best Actress. It also was awarded a BAFTA for Best British Film.
