Religion and war. Has religion been the cause of most wars throughout history?
Many atheists today point fingers and accuse “religion” of being a major catalyst for wars. They give the crusades as an example, and some even go so far as to suggest that dictators and military leaders like Adolf Hitler were religious.
Dr. Ravi Zacharias takes a closer look at these claims of religion and wars to argues in favor of Christianity.
It is important to not to look to the religious association of a cruel leader and automatically claim the religious belief has responsibility for the actions of the person. Many times, the person who is responsible for evil (or even genocide) is acting in complete opposition to the religion he associates with.
We can be sure if someone is a Christian based on their actions – the fruit of their beliefs. Jesus taught love. Jesus taught sacrifice. Jesus didn’t teach hate, narcissism, or evil.
